Accommodation
In the house, there are about 70 beds in shared rooms and large dorms, plus 5 showers. Those who prefer it a bit quieter and closer to nature can camp above the house. For van people, there are about 10 pitches.
There are three ticket categories, and you book your ticket according to your preferred accommodation type.
- In the house: Shared room or large dorm (first come first serve – helping with the setup helps). Fitted sheet, pillow, and cover available, sleeping bags must be brought yourself. Disclaimer: The house will be very noisy, the music hardly sleeps.
- In (your own) tent: There is space for camping outside the house.
- In a camper: There are camper parking spaces behind the house. It would be great if campers are used by several people as spaces are limited. Please make sure you book the right ticket whether you’re bringing your own van or sleeping in someone else’s van.
Arrival / Shuttle
Girlen is a 1.5-hour walk from Ebnat-Kappel station. Parking is limited, so arrival by car is strictly reserved for camper ticket holders.
We recommend arriving by train in Ebnat-Kappel. On Thursday (setup), Friday (arrival), and Sunday (departure) there will be shuttles; choose your arrival time when booking your ticket. Be sure to book the extra shuttle ticket if you need a shuttle, so we can plan accordingly.
Awareness & Community
We want to create a space where the following are respected:
- Consideration
- Personal responsibility
- Awareness of space and proximity
- Empathy & warmth
By everyone, at all times, in every state. You help shape the space with your behaviour. Awareness for us means mindful and caring togetherness – without discrimination, assault, or abuse of power. Boundaries are always individual – be aware that your counterpart has their own… Only yes means yes!
If you feel uncomfortable, need help, or observe something: Contact the awareness team. Also the bar staff can help you. Talk to us at any time!
Accessibility
Unfortunately, the house is not wheelchair accessible; it has steps, multiple levels, and not all areas are barrier-free. The grounds around the house are also partly uneven, sloping, and muddy depending on the weather.
Nevertheless, we want to make the gathering as accessible as possible. If you have questions about accessibility or have specific needs, please contact us in advance at impreza@opaki.ch. Then we can figure out together what is possible and how we can best support you on site.
Check In & Out
We start setting up the space on Thursday at noon. The official programme begins on Friday afternoon – we’ll announce later when exactly. After that, there’s continuous culture until Sunday afternoon. After a collective tidy-up and cleaning session, the shuttles will take you back to Ebnat-Kappel station in the evening, so you should be home around 8 or 9 p.m.
Important: Teardown is a team effort and everyone pitches in – that’s included in the ticket! There’s nothing quite like tidying up the venue together in a post-event haze… Usually, an hour+ of focused teamwork is all it takes.
Consumption
Anything goes – though the awareness concept applies to all states. We appeal to your personal responsibility and hope that you stay cute in every state – with yourself and everyone else.
Also: a little discretion never hurts. If you share your substances, do so consciously and transparently. Don’t leave anything lying around and make sure everyone knows what they are doing.
Look after each other and turn to our awareness team if you’re not feeling well or see a person who might need help.
Food & Drinks
Our kitchen team, which you are always welcome to join, spoils us daily with hearty breakfasts, delicious dinners, and snacks in between. All catering is primarily vegan, with vegetarian options available. For allergies or intolerances, please contact us at impreza@opaki.ch.
Basic drinks are available around the clock at affordable prices. Fancy drinks are served at the bar from 2 p.m. to 3 a.m. (or a little longer). You are also very welcome to take a shift at the bar!
You may bring your own drinks, but we rely on drink sales to cover our costs, which also include the fees of all cultural contributors.
Get involved!
Impreza creates a shared free space and explicitly doesn’t want to be a format that can be simply consumed. There will be numerous tasks that need to be carried out equally by visitors and organisers. This participatory approach allows us to keep the gatheringl as affordable and inclusive as possible.
Impreza is not profit-oriented but carried by the vision of a beautiful and long shared moment – we as the organising team create the space and the basics, together with you we create the content.
Do you want to contribute to the programme, help with setup or takedown, or get involved in any other way? Our festival is participatory and we look forward to your ideas and contributions! Contact us via this form if you have an idea!
Location
Nestled high in Toggenburg, Berghaus Girlen (47°15’28.5″N 9°05’27.2″E) offers stunning views of Säntis and the Alpstein. Tested and loved time and again, it has become a cherished retreat in recent years. Surrounding trails offer endless options to hike and reconnect with nature if you ever need a quiet moment to yourself.
Medical & Safety
Berghaus Girlen is in a remote location. If you or someone else is feeling unwell, please contact the awareness team or the bar staff immediately so we can take the necessary steps. Look out for one another, and when in doubt, don’t hesitate to check in.
If you are a medical professional and willing to be on call for emergencies, please sign up via the form.
If you are a doctor and would like to contribute by taking a turn as emergency contact during the gathering, let us know via the form.

Money $hit
At the bar, you can pay with Twint or cash. We are not profit-oriented and try to keep prices as low as possible. That’s why we all work voluntarily and with a lot of commitment and love in the planning and preparation. With the various accommodation options, we also try to create offers for all budgets.
If the ticket price seriously strains your budget, write to us at impreza@opaki.ch – we’ll find a solution. You may bring your own drinks, but we rely on drink sales to cover our costs.

Packing List
- Sleeping bag
- Toiletry bag

Photos & Videos
As at every good rave: phones are really out of place. If you do take photos, make sure no people who don’t want to be are recognisable, and don’t publish any photos or videos of our festival.
Programme
From Friday midday on two floors, there’s a nice and diverse line-up with DJ sets, live acts, workshops, and talks. One floor will be wild and loud, the other a bit more chill – but not only.
Would you like to offer a workshop, share your wisdom, lead a yoga session, a talk, or a jam? Massage?! Or spread mischief, games & fun? Contact us via the form!
Shifts
Impreza thrives on active participation. By purchasing a ticket, everyone commits to taking on at least one shift during the gathering and helping out with teardown. Shifts include supporting the kitchen, working the bar, driving shuttles, keeping the venue clean, or joining the awareness team.
The shifts are lightweight and scheduled so you’ll have plenty of space to fully enjoy the gathering. You can choose your preferred shift type when booking your ticket. We also offer a reduced ticket for anyone helping with both setup and teardown.
Want to get even more involved? Let us know via the form. We’re also looking for people interested in lighting design and projection mapping to join the team.
Spacekeeping
We keep the space clean and cosy together. Where things belong will be signalled. A bit of karma? Just bring that other cup and the bottle next to it back to the bar too.
Tickets
Our space is limited to 90 spots, first come – first serve. Advance sales give us planning security, which is mega important. Tickets cannot be refunded. As soon as the festival is sold out, there will be a waiting list through which tickets may possibly be passed on.
Included in the ticket price are access to the gathering, its cultural programme, accommodation, and meals. Drinks can be bought on site, and the shuttle needs to be booked additionally.
Weather
Girlen lies at 1150 metres above sea level, so the weather and temperatures hit a bit differently than in the lowlands. Bring enough warm clothing – but also sun cream!
